Due to financial hardship, many young pregnant women and infants in Uganda receive no medical care. Each year, 200,000 babies and children (ages 0–5) die due to lack of healthcare and malnutrition.

Thanks to our sponsors, Stop Poverty expanded its prenatal and maternity services.

On March 5, the Prenatal Care & Consultation Department of the Picavet Clinic was officially opened. The clinic increased its capacity by 200%, adding seven new rooms and a waiting area for 130 patients. On opening day, around 120 pregnant women and more than 500 additional visitors were present.

A notable case involved a 19‑year‑old pregnant woman suffering from hunger and premature contractions. She received a free ultrasound, laboratory tests, and medication, which stabilized her condition.
